According to Dr. Yadollah Bahrami, Director of Medical Information and Scientific Resources at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, out of the six scientific journals of the university, five journals have been awarded the prestigious COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) index. This valuable achievement demonstrates the university's strict adherence to ethical principles in scientific publishing and is also a sign of the high quality of the review, evaluation, and publication processes.
The COPE index is recognized as one of the most prestigious international criteria for publication ethics. Journals that attain this status must demonstrate strict adherence to principles of transparency, accountability, and the prevention of scientific misconduct. The acquisition of this index has notably enhanced the university's scientific and research profile, fostered increased trust within the scientific community, facilitated international collaboration, and enabled inclusion in more prominent indexing databases.
Dr. Bahrami expressed his profound gratitude for the dedication, integrity, and professionalism exhibited by all members of the editorial board, authors, reviewers, executive staff, scientific teams, and esteemed contributors. He stated, “The progress we have made would not have been possible without the collective commitment and ethical dedication of all involved.”
Additionally, he recognized the efforts of colleagues in Medical Information and the Scientific Resources Management Unit, who have played a crucial role in supporting and developing scientific publishing practices. Dr. Bahrami attributed this success to the shared values of empathy, cohesion, and ethical approach among team members. He conveyed hope that, with the continuation of this positive trend, the university will witness its journals gain further recognition in esteemed international indexes such as Scopus and PubMed.
